I have been getting many questions regarding the environmental protection ability of Glimpse or if Glimpse has an SPF rating.
First, what is SPF? Sun Protection Factor is simply a laboratory measure of the ability of a product to protect the skin when exposed to UVB radiation. UVB rays cause sunburn and are able to directly damage the DNA of your skin cells. The SPF of a product is not relevant to that product’s ability to protect the skin against UVA damage, which causes free radical formation and in-direct DNA damage.
Does Glimpse have an SPF rating, as of this moment, no. Is there a Glimpse product that contains a sun-blocking ingredient? Yes. Glimpse Mineral Treatment contains Zinc Oxide, which is known to have the broadest UV protection of any single ingredient. In addition Zinc Oxide has been shown to exhibit antioxidant activity and the ability to calm and soothe irritated or inflamed skin.
However, trying to block the sun’s rays is only partially effective at best. I believe that the importance of topical supplementation with antioxidants and additional nutrients is essential in maintaining the health of your skin. Each Glimpse formula (including The Mineral Treatment) contains BioActive X3, the antioxidant activity of which outperformed Resveratrol, CoQ10, and Ascorbic Acid*.
In conclusion, Glimpse does not currently have an SPF rating. However, it does contain concentrated levels of active ingredients proven to boost your skin’s natural immunity against environmental aggressors. Lastly, we do have a proven effective sun-blocking agent in the Glimpse Mineral Treatment.

TQ v v much Misha. V informative for us here at the Equator n the Tropics. We are fortunate that Glimpse is coming to Malaysia this March. Malaysians are THRILLED! And always always, the SPF question pops up and now I kno how to effectively handle this. However, it would be more powerful if the Mineral Treatment can make its way here too as really its part of the total package of Health from Outside In. Thanks to Beverly too. I LOVE my Glimpse!!!
This technically answer my curiosity esp to the HOT and SUNNY countries like Malaysia…
we are so blessed to have this amazing product!!! Bravoo Glimpse Team!
This is a good thing to me, because every time I use an spf lotion (even if meant for sensitive skin) I get itchy irritated skin, and also my eyes hurt like mad if it gets anywhere near them, which is pretty much every time it’s put on.
I have found using Organic Virgin Coconut on our bodies has a natural SPF in it!
Wow!!!! That’s awesome! Thank you for passing this along…
I have a 16 yr old son who has acne. He’s been using the cleanser gel (step 1), the serum (step 3) and lotion (step 4) twice daily. It was working for a while but his acne has gotten worse. Is this the correct regiment for him? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Cordelia,
Have you read Misha’s article on acne? If not, it’s titled “Troubled with your skin”; it’s on this blog. Why don’t you review it and see if you could incorporate some of those suggestions. I think you might find the information very helpful. I’m also happy to work with you and your son directly. I will need a little more background info. though, before i feel comfortable making any suggestions. If you want, why don’t you email directly at jessica.barratt@XANGO.com. Thank you!
Jessica,
1. I’ve spent 15 min looking for the article mentioned in your response to Cordelia about her son’s acne (above). The article is called “Troubled With Your Skin” written by Misha. You say it’s on this blog but I can’t find it or a link to it anywhere. FYI: I’m on a link found on the home page of Xango being featured now – it says “click here” for more info about the Mother’s Day Special. Then it takes you to “Glimpseblog”, an article called “Glimpse and SPF” by Misha. Where’s the article about acne?
2. Also, is there some way we can lift these articles out of the Xango website so that we can educate our family and friends?
Thanks for your help! Carol Thomae 20K
Hi Carol,
I apologize for any confusion. We are currently in the process of updating the blog to make navigation easier. As you can see, the Mother’s Day Special is now the featured article on the Glimpse Blog home page. Misha’s article on SPF was featured in the Mother’s Day Package to help educate about the Glimpse Mineral Treatment (which we just announced was officially given a SPF rating of 25). Here is the link to Misha’s article “Troubled with your Skin”. I just typed in the title of the article in the search box at the top of the homepage, But, again, I know navigation is a bit tough right now. We are working on it. Thank you Carol!
